The Land of the Free & The Home of the Brave
July 4th, 1776 - The day that represents the Declaration of Independence and the birth of the United States of America as an independent nation.
This is not just a celebration that one-eyed, three-fingered firework salesmen live off of for the whole coming year, this is a day of celebrating greatness and freedom.
As a patriot and navy wife, I take pride in my country and all of the amazing achievements that have been made in 243 years.
America - Home to the Declaration of Independence, checks and balances, freedom of speech and expression, the abolishment of slavery, Birthright Citizenship, and the melting pot of multiracial and multicultural dimensions.
America is also the home of the internet, baseball, everything apple, Youtube, an obsession with college sports, drug advertisements, same-day online delivery, spray cheese, 24-hour stores, white bread, pets as children, the greeting of “How are you?”, confusing coins, Black Friday, and tipping.
So here’s to all of the strides our beautiful country has made, will continue to make, and the brave men and women who risk their lives every day to keep it that way.
“Prosperity! You will never know how much it cost the present generation to earn your freedom! I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in Heaven that I ever took half of the pains to preserve it.”
